Rescue for Little Bunny Foo-Foo

his afternoon, Rick and I were in the basement. I walked over to the window well to make sure there was nothing hanging out there. I was startled to see two little eyes and a bundle of fur.

Somehow, a very young bunny had fallen into the window well and was lying there quietly. At first, I thought he was injured since its back legs were at an angle. He didn’t move while we were looking at him.

I sent Rick out to try and move him. Since the bunny still didn’t try to get away. I was sure it was hurt. I talked to someone on one of the wildlife refuge. They told us how to proceed to get the bunny out of the well.

Rick threw a towel over it so it didn’t see him as we removed it. We placed the bunny in a cardboard box. Each step took a bit since we needed the bunny to stay as calm as possible. That in itself was hard for the bunny. Its little heart was beating so hard.

The final step was to take the box to some bushes and wait for the bunny to recover. I was worried about injuries and that it might not be able to get away on its own. No worries there. After a few minutes, the bunny hopped out of the box and took off for the underbrush.

We did our good deed for the day. Now how did “Little Bunny Foo-Foo” go again?

We got a towel over the bunny and then transfer it to a cardboard box. This allowed us to let is rest in between steps and see if it was hurt.

Next step was to unwrap the bunny and see if things were going better. The bunny did manage to sit up.
