{"id":1398,"date":"2012-11-07T21:16:48","date_gmt":"2012-11-08T03:16:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/zurekbrau.com\/blogs\/richsblog\/?p=1398"},"modified":"2012-11-07T21:16:48","modified_gmt":"2012-11-08T03:16:48","slug":"day-2-garage-foundations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/zurekbrau.com\/blogs\/richsblog\/?p=1398","title":{"rendered":"Day 2 Garage Foundations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Pulling up to the house today, we could see that some work had been going on here.\u00a0 First off, there\u2019s a bobcat in the yard!\u00a0 Cool!\u00a0 I want to drive it.\u00a0 But there aren\u2019t any keys for it.\u00a0 Too bad.<\/p>\n<p>Believe it or not, I have experience driving a bobcat. \u00a0I had a summer job at the cement plant in town.\u00a0 I used a bobcat to shovel coal into the burner for the kiln used to create Portland mix for concrete.\u00a0 It was a good job.\u00a0 Didn\u2019t pay too badly either.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway\u2026.they had dug the foundation out, which now outlines the garage.\u00a0 It doesn\u2019t look that big now.\u00a0 Rick was looking down into the holes and commenting how you could bury a body in there.\u00a0 Too bad I\u2019m not that mad at anyone right now.\u00a0 I guess the contractor would want to remove the body before they pour the concrete though.\u00a0 Bodies and concrete doesn\u2019t add anything to the structural integrity.<\/p>\n<p>The building inspector came by tonight to sign off on the foundation work so far.\u00a0 Hopefully we can keep up with the signatures and the work to move forward.\u00a0 We\u2019ve had projects where the wait for the next signature gets in the way.\u00a0 Thanks, Ray.<\/p>\n<p>So now for the photo of the day showing the work to date.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1400\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1400\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/zurekbrau.com\/blogs\/richsblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Start-of-the-foundation1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1400\" title=\"Start of the foundation\" src=\"https:\/\/zurekbrau.com\/blogs\/richsblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Start-of-the-foundation1-300x224.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\" srcset=\"https:\/\/zurekbrau.com\/blogs\/richsblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Start-of-the-foundation1-300x224.jpg 300w, https:\/\/zurekbrau.com\/blogs\/richsblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Start-of-the-foundation1.jpg 448w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1400\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">There it is. What gravel and the forms in place to accept the concrete.
