6:30 in the morning is way too early for someone to show up and start pouring concrete!\u00a0 That’s what happened this morning though.\u00a0 I started hearing noises in the backyard.\u00a0 Lo and behold, there is Dave Anderson, concrete contractor, preparing for the big trucks to arrive.\u00a0 My neighbors have got to hate me today.<\/p>\n
I was working at home and could hear them out there all day long.\u00a0 I lost count at about 4th truck to come down Hickory and turn onto Oak to pour concrete.<\/p>\n
Sascha couldn’t go out and spend her usual day in the grass.\u00a0 I ended up walking her in the front yard.\u00a0 Needless to say, she was not happy at this turn of affairs.\u00a0 Of course, she was closer to see squirrels out there.\u00a0 At one point, she pulled me right off my feet to try and go after one.\u00a0 I need to make sure I pay attention when I have to walk her out front.<\/p>\n
So the slab is down and curing.\u00a0 The bobcat is packed on the trailer and driven away.\u00a0 The dirt was nicely packed around the site.\u00a0 The gravel driveway is level and nicely packed down.<\/p>\n
Brad, who lives behind us, commented on the rather large slab of concrete someone left in our yard.\u00a0 He assures me that he’ll be getting his blades on to come over and skate tonight.\u00a0 I’m just hoping the neighborhood kids stay off of it tomorrow.<\/p>\n
The framers are scheduled to show up on the 19th.\u00a0 Then the walls will raise.\u00a0 It’ll start looking like a garage.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n<\/a><\/a>
