Garage seems to be at a standstill.\u00a0 Talked to Pete D. and he assure us that the post covers and Leafguard will be installed this week.\u00a0 That will mean the end of his involvement as a contractor.\u00a0 It also means that Rich needs to write out the check for the final amount.\u00a0 Seems like a good exchange.\u00a0 We did get one nice garage out of the deal.Rich told Pete that he was moving the hot rod over to the new garage.\u00a0 Pete was concerned about the floor.\u00a0 Apparently, you should no expose the concrete floor to oils and such until you can treat the floor.\u00a0 The treatment requires a minimum temperature of 50 degrees.\u00a0 We figure that won\u2019t happen until Spring.\u00a0 Rich informed Pete that he would cover the floor, but moving the hot rod was conducive to continuing the good relationship with the wife.<\/p>\n
On Saturday, Rich and Rick moved Sally to her new home.\u00a0 She seems to like it over there.\u00a0 It\u2019s quiet.\u00a0 That meant rearranging the attached garage so I can park in there again!\u00a0 By Saturday afternoon, it could pull into my own spot in the garage and stop until the red light marking good placement on the floor.\u00a0 The red light means I didn\u2019t hit anything.\u00a0 So the Frontier and the CRV are side by side.\u00a0 We have a guarantee of good wedded relations in the house, for now.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s Christmas time.\u00a0 That also means birthday time for Sascha.\u00a0 She started out in life as Holly and was a Christmas puppy.\u00a0 Too bad she got too big and ended up in the rescue.\u00a0 Her name is now Sascha, but her birthday is still at Christmas.\u00a0 I bought a carrot cake to celebrate.\u00a0 Tonight, we sang \u201cHappy Birthday\u201d to Sascha and she danced about.\u00a0 I think she is learning what it means to sing \u201cHappy Birthday\u201d and that means she eats cake!\u00a0 She is so happy when she hears that song.<\/p>\n
First semester of college is over.\u00a0 Rick survived finals, I think.\u00a0 We\u2019ll have to wait and see how he did.\u00a0 A couple of weeks off and then the Spring semester starts.\u00a0 That just gives him more time to look for a job.\u00a0 He has put in applications with several establishments.\u00a0 Now it might be a waiting game.\u00a0 I\u2019ve got my fingers crossed.\u00a0 I think Rick has got his crossed that they don\u2019t want him!\u00a0 Freedom definitely has its advantages.<\/p>\n
Last week, some of my friends gathered to celebrate a week of birthdays. It all starts with my birthday followed by Diane\u2019s and then Kim\u2019s.\u00a0 For this, we decided to meet from dinner and drinks. Kim arranged for us to meet Cooper\u2019s Hawk Winery.\u00a0 I got there early since I wasn\u2019t sure about the traffic.\u00a0 By 5:30, we had gathered at the bar and made our way to dinner.\u00a0 It was a great night of food, drinks, and talk.\u00a0 There\u2019s nothing better than hanging out with the girls.\u00a0 Even the chocolate cake with ice cream and whipped cream was heavenly.<\/p>\n
My birthday came and went.\u00a0 For my birthday, I treated myself to a massage.\u00a0 The neighbor, Carol, is a masseuse.\u00a0 She came to the house and gave me a massage right here.\u00a0 It was very nice and I felt so wonderful afterwards.\u00a0 I decided to continue massages and try to help some of my issues.\u00a0 Carol returned this week to give me another massage.\u00a0 Once again, it helped tremendously.\u00a0 How ever thought of massages deserves a reward.<\/p>\n
Rick has been complaining this week that he has never built a gingerbread house.\u00a0 I tried to explain to him that we had done that.\u00a0 Since he didn\u2019t remember this experience, he decided to try it again.\u00a0 He bought a kit and spent an hour putting up walls, applying icing, and decorating a house.\u00a0 It turned out pretty nice.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t help him, but now maybe he can claim the experience of building a gingerbread house.<\/p>\n
On Saturday night, the Northern Illinois Streeters car club held their annual Christmas potluck.\u00a0 They rented out the Spring Grove Auto Gallery for the occasion.\u00a0 This venue is a large garage that takes cars on consignment and is storage for cars.\u00a0 The cars vary at any time, depending upon who is trying to sell something.\u00a0 There was a 1933 Ford 3-window coupe for sale.\u00a0 It looks like something right out of a ZZ Top video.\u00a0 We enjoyed some food, songs by the entertainment, and even a Santa.\u00a0 Rich was able to sneak in some beer.\u00a0 We did pretty well in the grab bag and I even won something in the door prizes.\u00a0 I gave my nice tool bag to Rick for his own set of tools.<\/p>\n
Sunday was another quiet day.\u00a0 Just sitting here watching the garage and waiting for it to get done.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n<\/a><\/a><\/a><\/a><\/a><\/a>
