What a difference in the weather over the week!\u00a0 We went from 50s to single digits.\u00a0 I hate winter.\u00a0 Unfortunately, you have to have a real winter to enjoy a nice spring and summer.\u00a0 I just don\u2019t have to enjoy the cold and snow, do I?<\/p>\n

This week, I was in class for two days.\u00a0 It was for Microsoft Project, which we use as our main delivery tool.\u00a0 I have to confess that I didn\u2019t understand a lot about the program.\u00a0 It\u2019s always a little strange the first day.\u00a0 You don\u2019t know the instructor or the other people taking the class.\u00a0 I try to be friendly and talk.\u00a0 It\u2019s hard sometimes.\u00a0 I go blank and can\u2019t figure out what to say in reply to things.<\/p>\n

What do you know?\u00a0 Project is just like a database.\u00a0 You have your view of the database and then the tables that contain all of the information.\u00a0 Duh!\u00a0 No one ever explained it like that before.\u00a0 I get it now.\u00a0 So I need to convert all of the information in my head into tables of information.\u00a0 Then I need to ask the different groups of users to do the same.\u00a0 Wow, this wasn\u2019t so hard.<\/p>\n

As everyone knows, Sascha is a love bug.\u00a0 She just wants to be petted and sit in your lap.\u00a0 Rich started this saying around the house.\u00a0 It goes something like, \u201cI need to go to the doctor.\u00a0 I have this heavy weight on my chest.\u201d\u00a0 This, of course, is Sascha trying to snuggle up to you.\u00a0 That\u2019s about 52 lbs. of dog on you.\u00a0 I decided to capture pictures of Sascha cuddling at different times and string them all together into a collage.\u00a0 So far, the pictures are cute.\u00a0 We\u2019ll see how this progresses.<\/p>\n

We woke up to snow on Saturday.\u00a0 It wasn\u2019t much for us, but about three inches covered the ground.\u00a0 Sascha was very happy to go out and roll around in the white stuff.\u00a0 At least it was light and fluffy.\u00a0 Rick had an easy time of cleaning off the driveway, patio, and the deck.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, Free Spirit Siberian Husky Rescue did their annual sled demo and chili dinner.\u00a0 This is the rescue where we had gotten Sascha.\u00a0 She was Holly back then and was the lead dog on one of the sled teams.\u00a0 It\u2019s amazing to watch her run.\u00a0 She puts her entire heart into it.\u00a0 The snow meant that they could use the real sleds and not the wheeled sleds they use when there is no snow.<\/p>\n

So Rick and I took Sascha out for the fun.\u00a0 I had bid on one of the sled rides and won.\u00a0 So I got to ride in a real dog sled.\u00a0 Sascha was put on the team as well.\u00a0 She didn\u2019t get to be lead, but she was putting in more effort than most of the dogs.<\/p>\n

There is a photographer who is part of the volunteers with the group.\u00a0 He takes all of these wonderful pictures of their events.\u00a0 I got pictures of me in the sled and he got a great shot of Sascha doing what she loves best.\u00a0 I just have to say, it was too cold for this.\u00a0 I think it was 11 degrees with -15 wind chills.\u00a0 We managed to survive and Sascha got to run with a team.\u00a0 She was tired the rest of the day.\u00a0 I swear I saw her smiling in her sleep though.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been way too cold to work out in the garage.\u00a0 With the single digits and the wind chill, Rick has gotten somewhat of a reprieve from putting up insulation.\u00a0 The ceiling is mostly done and one wall. \u00a0That leaves two and a half walls to go.\u00a0 There\u2019s probably some patching here and there to ensure that everything is all sealed up.\u00a0 We hope the temps cooperate this week.<\/p>\n

Rich has been telling me that our TV in the living room is slowly dying.\u00a0 It appears to be getting darker and darker.\u00a0 I know I can still see the shows as they play.\u00a0 Rich says the bright is up as far as it\u2019ll go.\u00a0 Rich has been doing the normal research to figure out what he can buy to replace the TV.\u00a0 He came up with two possible replacements.\u00a0 This meant that it was time to do some in person investigation.<\/p>\n

We headed out to H.H. Greg.\u00a0 First stop was the refrigerators.\u00a0 I\u2019m looking, but I\u2019m still not sure what I want.\u00a0 Then on to the TVs.\u00a0 We know what size we need to fit into the entertainment center.\u00a0 That tells what we need to look at.\u00a0 We find the Samsung and the Toshiba that Rich wants to see.\u00a0 There\u2019s a big difference in the screens and the quality.\u00a0 Then there are the features.\u00a0 So the Samsung is winning so far.\u00a0 Then we see that they have one that got returned for a bigger model.\u00a0 That makes the price enticing.\u00a0 Rich wrangles a little bit.\u00a0 Yep, the Samsung won.\u00a0 We pay and head home with the spoils for trade.<\/p>\n

The old TV has to come out of there first.\u00a0 Rich get is out and we clean up the spot.\u00a0 There are cables to move and rearrange.\u00a0 Then there is the dust to get out there.\u00a0 The new TV fits in nicely.\u00a0 Rich gets it all cabled up and we turn on power.\u00a0 Wow!\u00a0 That\u2019s a gorgeous screen.\u00a0 Now we have to learn the remote and all the steps to get to our favorite things.\u00a0 We can stream directly from Netflix, get onto the Internet, and even get to the hard drive on the network to view pictures.\u00a0 This is going to be fun.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s time to start the food line.\u00a0 I make up cheese dip with sausage.\u00a0 Rich starts working up his wings.\u00a0 These things are awesome.\u00a0 They go down fast.\u00a0 Spicy, sweet, and crispy.\u00a0 Delicious.\u00a0 The game starts up and we move on to sliders.\u00a0 This is one of Rich\u2019s specialties that we have for occasions, like Super Bowl.\u00a0 I share one of mine with Sascha.\u00a0 I think she\u2019s a fan as well.<\/p>\n

Besides the food, there is still Zurekbrau in the keg.\u00a0 We\u2019ve been enjoying Husky Paws for a while now.\u00a0 It\u2019s got such a great flavor.\u00a0 I\u2019ve had one while I was doing some work to prepare for some meetings in the morning.\u00a0 A good way to work.\u00a0 Too bad I can\u2019t do this while I\u2019m at work.\u00a0 I get another one for dimmer and to complete this blog.\u00a0 I\u2019m enjoying the evening.\u00a0 Come on, Ravens!<\/p>\n

So the game plays in the background while I\u2019m typing up my blog.\u00a0 I guess I should finish up and get back to the game.\u00a0 My team is winning.<\/p>\n
