I posted late last time.\u00a0 This threw off my timing for the next posts as well.\u00a0 I really didn\u2019t have anything new to say either.\u00a0 This week, I have a couple of things to talk about.<\/p>\n

Rich did some shopping around for a drywaller to put up the dry wall and finish off the taping and mudding.\u00a0 Given the height of the ceiling, I thought it was a good idea to have someone else doing the work.\u00a0 Also, it would go a lot faster rather than doing it ourselves.\u00a0 I say that like I was going to help.\u00a0 Not.\u00a0 I give moral support, but I didn\u2019t plan to do any of the work.<\/p>\n

One of the guys at work has a brother-in-law who is a drywaller.\u00a0 He put in a call and we got a call back.\u00a0 He lives up in Wisconsin by the Dells, but this gives him a chance to work and visit with his sister.\u00a0 The price was good and he is highly recommended.\u00a0 So when the weather warms up a little more, we\u2019ll be getting walls up out in the new garage.\u00a0 From there, Rich will get the electrical done and start moving in.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, I met up with my friends, Kim and Diane, for a little girls\u2019 night out.\u00a0 I drug Karen, my new contractor, with me as well.\u00a0 We had dinner and drinks at Bahama Breeze in Schaumburg.\u00a0 It had been a while since I was able to talk to Kim.\u00a0 It just being the girls meant we didn\u2019t have to watch what we talk about.\u00a0 It was a good time.\u00a0 Thanks, ladies, for coming by to join me.<\/p>\n

I had Rick come out to pick me up.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t want to drink and drive.\u00a0 It might not have been a problem since I didn\u2019t really even drink one alcoholic drink.\u00a0 Getting old is bad.\u00a0 I used to be able to drink more and now it just keeps diminishing.\u00a0 Rick did eventually show up.\u00a0 I kid him that my friends are more his friends than mine.\u00a0 They all like him a lot.\u00a0 We had to stay so they could talk to him and get caught up.\u00a0 Kim used to watch Rick when he was little so she has a lot of history with him.<\/p>\n

On Thursday evening into Friday morning, we got another 3 or 4 inches of snow.\u00a0 It was too bad, but I really dreaded spending 2 hours to drive into the office.\u00a0 I decided to work at home.\u00a0 I ended up doing a lot of work that day.\u00a0 I had meetings, but nothing I had to concentrate hard for.\u00a0 I don\u2019t know how people around Chicago can\u2019t drive in the snow.\u00a0 They drive 10 to 15 under the speed limit in the rain also.<\/p>\n

On Friday, I went with Rich to bowling.\u00a0 I try to go at least once a month.\u00a0 Then I show my support and get to catch up with the guys at bowling.\u00a0 Sean was filling in for one of the guys on Rich\u2019s team.\u00a0 I\u2019ve known Sean for a couple of years now.\u00a0 He\u2019s a young guy who fills in now and then.\u00a0 He\u2019s a lot of fun and I like talking to him.\u00a0 It added to the evening having Sean to give a hard time.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve been trying to fight off some sort of sinus problems all week.\u00a0 On Saturday, I work up to put the dog out in the morning and ended up going back to bed.\u00a0 I just couldn\u2019t stay away all day.\u00a0 I was able to go back to bed later in the day.\u00a0 I just couldn\u2019t stay awake!\u00a0 On Sunday, it was only a little better.\u00a0 I had a headache and just couldn\u2019t feel like I was walking under water.<\/p>\n

During the week, I saw an ad that Adam Ferrara from Top Gear was going to be at Volo Auto Museum.\u00a0 I love that show.\u00a0 I asked Rick if he wanted to go and he did.\u00a0 Eventually, Rich wanted to go also.\u00a0 We went out to breakfast at The Windmill.\u00a0 This restaurant is cute and has really great food.\u00a0 It is way over decorated and they change it for each season.\u00a0 The basic d\u00e9cor is plates and cups and saucers from all different things.\u00a0 There is the Wizard of Oz wall, Shirley Temple wall, and so on.\u00a0 There is a train at a bar for the little kids.\u00a0 We get things like biscuit and gravy omelettes, Mexican messes, and cinnamon rolls pancakes.<\/p>\n

We headed over to Volo Auto Museum at around 10:00.\u00a0 I figured things would be getting started about 10:30 or so with Adam.\u00a0 There were already quite a few people in line.\u00a0 We bought our tickets and joined the others in queue.\u00a0 We found out that Adam wouldn\u2019t be arriving until 11:00.\u00a0 We had a whole half an hour to wait.\u00a0 Oh well.\u00a0 The line behind continued to grow quite a bit.\u00a0 Finally, Adam arrive.\u00a0 His first words were, \u201cHello, I\u2019m Tanner Foust.\u00a0 I\u2019m not as small as you thought, right?\u201d\u00a0 Amazingly, he looks like he does on TV.\u00a0 Usually, they do look different.<\/p>\n

The group ahead of us had a small girl.\u00a0 When she saw Adam, she started crying.\u00a0 Adam tried to make up with her and she just wasn\u2019t having any of it.\u00a0 Adam shook his head and said, \u201cShe\u2019s upset I\u2019m not Rut.\u201d\u00a0 This referred to one of his co-stars, Rutledge Wood.\u00a0 It would have been cool to have Rut there.\u00a0 Finally, it was our turn.\u00a0 I got my picture taken first and then Rich joined us.\u00a0 I got a signed photo.\u00a0 Rick stepped up for his turn with Adam.\u00a0 Amazingly, all of our pictures turned out pretty good.<\/p>\n

On Saturday and Sunday, Rich took Sascha out scootering.\u00a0 Of course, she had a high time running.\u00a0 A good Husky is a tired Husky.\u00a0 With some luck, the weather will be getting warmer and Rich can start taking Sascha out with the walky dog for bike rides.\u00a0 Either way, Sascha loves to run.<\/p>\n

Last week of February is here.\u00a0 It came so fast.\u00a0 Pretty soon, it\u2019ll be March and the big round of birthdays.\u00a0 Rick\u2019s is March 9.\u00a0 Then Rich\u2019s will be here in April.\u00a0 I\u2019m looking forward to Rich\u2019s birthday.\u00a0 We are going to Hofbrau Haus to celebrate, eat German food and have a few beers.\u00a0 They opened a location in Rosemont, which is pretty close to the house.<\/p>\n
