Winter again?!?\u00a0 Tuesday, it snowed again.\u00a0 I planned ahead this time though.\u00a0 I ended work at home on Monday, so I had to go into the office on Tuesday.\u00a0 My plan was to stay at the office until the snow started and then go home.\u00a0 I had a meeting at 10:30 and no snow yet.\u00a0 I checked out the windows before I went into the conference room.\u00a0 At the end of the meeting, someone on the phone said to be careful out there.\u00a0 It was snowing!<\/p>\n

Rich was coming down to my cube so we could go to lunch.\u00a0 No way.\u00a0 Grab your stuff, honey, we\u2019re headed home.\u00a0 We made it into town and stopped for lunch at Chi-Dogs.\u00a0 By the time we got done, the snow was piling up.\u00a0 I got us the rest of the way without incident.\u00a0 Whew!\u00a0 Time to settle in and let it snow.<\/p>\n

Rick came home from class.\u00a0 Now it was time for him to shovel us out for the first time.\u00a0 It was probably up to 3 or 4 inches out there.\u00a0 It was heart attack snow.\u00a0 That meant it was wet and heavy.\u00a0 I really appreciate having Rick around when there is work to be done.\u00a0 Especially when it is done out in the cold.\u00a0 He made the first pass in under an hour.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Sascha was having a high time out in the snow.\u00a0 She was bouncing around and refusing to come in.\u00a0 At one point, Rich went out to talk her into coming in.\u00a0 He didn\u2019t see her at first.\u00a0 Then her head popped up from behind a big bank of snow.\u00a0 Apparently, she dug a hole in the bank and had settled in like she was living out there.\u00a0 She did come in and settled into the big red chair.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, Rich and I worked at home.\u00a0 The snow continued to come down.\u00a0 We got another couple of inches.\u00a0 After Rick got back from class, he shoveled some more.\u00a0 This time, it was less time and less snow.\u00a0 While he was out there, the lady across the street came out and asked him to shovel out her drive.\u00a0 He did it with a smile.\u00a0 They hadn\u2019t dug out from the first day, so there was a lot of snow and the plow had created a good pile at the end of the drive.<\/p>\n

When Rick came in, he was cold, wet, and tired.\u00a0 I asked if she offered to pay him.\u00a0 He said she hadn\u2019t.\u00a0 She said she had a heart problem and couldn\u2019t shovel.\u00a0 I thanked him.\u00a0 Somewhere along the line, Rick will want something and I\u2019ll remember his good deed.<\/p>\n

Last Sunday, the Space Station was supposed to go overhead.\u00a0 Rich has been trying for a while to remember to go and see if he could track it as it goes over us.\u00a0 We remembered and went out onto the deck to scan the heavens for a light we thought would be the station.\u00a0 A couple of airplanes went over. These are easy to see with the red and green lights.\u00a0 It\u2019s amazing that the mechanisms of sailing apply to air travel also.\u00a0 Just northwest of us, I could see a large white light that appeared to be moving a little faster than a plane.\u00a0 The light was actually the sun shining on the solar panels and that\u2019s why it was so bright.\u00a0 We tracked it across the sky in the direction that the notice said it would follow.<\/p>\n

This week, I\u2019ve been emailing with Rose.\u00a0 She was asking some questions.\u00a0 That gave me an opportunity to ask some in return.\u00a0 Rich\u2019s Air Force group from Germany wants to have a reunion this summer.\u00a0 Many had gone through San Antonio and a few are still in the area.\u00a0 It was decided to meet for dinner there.\u00a0 Since plans weren\u2019t moving forward, Rich set up a website and we are going to work on scheduling something.\u00a0 We plan to drive down to San Antonio, have dinner with the group and come back.\u00a0 Rich thought it would be nice to visit with Rose.\u00a0 The plan right now is to have the dinner over the July 4th<\/sup> weekend.\u00a0 So I asked Rose to help me determine a restaurant and then I can work on the details.\u00a0 Now we have something else to look forward to this year.<\/p>\n

Rich bowls on the Motorola league every Friday night.\u00a0 Last night, Rich came home in really good spirits.\u00a0 Apparently, he rolled a 239 in his last game.\u00a0 Everyone was excited as he rolled.\u00a0 He even posted a snap of it on his Facebook page.\u00a0 This is his all time high so far.<\/p>\n

Our friend, Jay, asked if we could watch his dog, Guinness, while he was in Vegas during training.\u00a0 Of course, I\u2019m happy to watch her.\u00a0 Rich was worried about how Sascha would take a new dog in her domain.\u00a0 Guinness and Sascha have been together before without major confrontations.\u00a0 Jay and Guinness came by today to visit.\u00a0 Sascha was excited to see Guinness.\u00a0 They played and Guinness wondered around.\u00a0 I figure after a day or so they should be packing around the house together.\u00a0 So we will have a houseguest for a couple of starting new Saturday.<\/p>\n

The epidemic of chest pain continues around here.\u00a0 Sascha can\u2019t seem to get enough of packing with her people.\u00a0 Just as soon as someone sits in her chair, she wants to sit there also.\u00a0 No, it\u2019s not Rich\u2019s chair anymore.\u00a0 She can hear someone sit down in it from three counties away.\u00a0 So the photos continue of her apply pressure in her own special way to each of us.<\/p>\n

So Rick\u2019s birthday is coming up.\u00a0 He wanted to know today if his birthday week was beginning.\u00a0 He wanted to get out of dishes and other chores this week.\u00a0 Good luck with that, boyo!\u00a0 I have to do my chores during my birthday weeks!\u00a0 I\u2019ll give him a couple of breaks, but he still needs to do his work.\u00a0 I\u2019m running out of time when I can continue to abuse this relationship to my benefit.<\/p>\n

Saturday is his big day.\u00a0 He\u2019ll be 19.\u00a0 A few of his friends are coming over to celebrate.\u00a0 He\u2019s getting too old for anything big.\u00a0 We figure we\u2019ll go out to dinner on Thursday to his favorite restaurant.\u00a0 I\u2019ll get a cake for Saturday so we can sing Happy Birthday.\u00a0 Birthday cake is always a must.\u00a0 Sascha will like it, but she doesn\u2019t sing Happy Birthday like Sofie used to.<\/p>\n

Well, on to another week.<\/p>\n
