I did do a blog, but I was waiting to pull off the pictures.\u00a0 I know, not an excuse.\u00a0 Here is the earlier blog, with pictures.<\/p>\n

Wow, it\u2019s the beginning of April!\u00a0 Where the first half of the year go?\u00a0 Too bad the weather doesn\u2019t know that it is Spring.\u00a0 We finally saw 60s on Saturday, but it has been a little chilly.\u00a0 At least my flowers are trying to come up.\u00a0 They don\u2019t care about the weather.\u00a0 I have lots of green sprouting up through the dirty around the house.\u00a0 Come on, summer!<\/p>\n

On Monday, Rich stayed home to get the electrical contractor started on the garage.\u00a0 We got a quote for service out to the garage and then to add the lights and outlets.\u00a0 Since the quote was a good price, Rich decided to have them do all of the work.\u00a0 Rich marked out where the trench would go.\u00a0 On Monday, they trenched, put down the conduit, installed the service, and ran most of the outlets.\u00a0 They even had the lights on the outside put up.\u00a0 The green barn light over the man door looks great.<\/p>\n

Work ended there until the Building Inspector could stop by and check it, which he did on Tuesday.\u00a0 Rich stayed home on Tuesday to help with the inspection and write the big check.\u00a0 Once Ray came by and gave his blessing, the work continued.\u00a0 Rich\u2019s hand didn\u2019t even shake that much when he wrote the check.<\/p>\n

I normally work at home on Tuesdays.\u00a0 So I was there for the fun and games that day.\u00a0 Sascha wanted outside after the contractors arrived that morning.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t think about her or that she might get in their way.\u00a0 Apparently, she didn\u2019t like the noises from the garage so she didn\u2019t wander in.\u00a0 I went to check on her and the guys had come out to say hello.\u00a0 They were petting her.\u00a0 Later, they took a cigarette break and she was hanging out with them.\u00a0 I have one very social Siberian Collie.<\/p>\n

Tuesday evening, Rich and I went to dinner with some friends.\u00a0 Unfortunately for Rich, only the girls showed up.\u00a0 He didn\u2019t have to listen to much girl talk, so I think he managed to survive.\u00a0 It was great to meet up with several people I don\u2019t see often.\u00a0 We had a few laughs and enjoyed a little bit of social hour in a busy week.<\/p>\n

I had a long list of deliveries that I need to do this week.\u00a0 I decided to keep my head down and work through everything and stay out of the office.\u00a0 For some reason, I get distracted a lot more when I\u2019m in the office.\u00a0 I just needed to put in the time and get the work done.\u00a0 Of course, that means working a lot of hours too.\u00a0 The guys don\u2019t feel too neglected though.\u00a0 I just have to make it over the next couple of weeks.<\/p>\n

Rich sent me an email with bad news on Thursday.\u00a0 Mr. Johnnie Billington died down in Clarksdale, MS.\u00a0 This really saddened me.\u00a0 Back in January of 2012, Rich and I went to Memphis for a week\u00a0 At the end of the week, we went down to check out the Crossroads in Clarksdale.\u00a0 While we were there, we visited Ground Zero Blues Club.\u00a0 We went in to eat and listen to the jam night.\u00a0 We had met Stan Street earlier in the day.\u00a0 Stan, his band, and other locals were playing that night.<\/p>\n

As we listened to the great music, an older gentleman came and stood at the railing by our table.\u00a0 He was smiling and trying to start a conversation with Rich, who wasn\u2019t feeling well with a sinus headache.\u00a0 I went over and decided to talk to the gentleman.\u00a0 He said his name was John B.\u00a0 As he and I talked, I got some wonderful stories about how he had been playing the blues since he was 13.\u00a0 He was now teaching young kids to be showman.\u00a0 One of his prot\u00e9g\u00e9s was playing that night.<\/p>\n

I told John that we were visting from outside of Chicago.\u00a0 He laughs really big and says to me, \u201cEverywhere is outside of Chicago.\u201d\u00a0 He thought my comment was very funny and kept laughing over it all night.\u00a0 Turns out, he had lived in Chicago for several years playing blues with some of the names at that time.\u00a0 He returned to Mississippi after his mother became ill.\u00a0 He had lots of stories about his adventures.<\/p>\n

His student, Omar Gordon, came on stage and played.\u00a0 Poor boy was so nervous, but he was wonderful and quite talented.\u00a0 John gave his full attention to Omar during his turn on stage.\u00a0 You could see the pride on his face that Omar was doing a great job.\u00a0 John applauded and went right back to telling me stories.<\/p>\n

Stan came by to tell me that I was in trouble.\u00a0 Once John has you in his sights, he apparently doesn\u2019t stop talking.\u00a0 That was fine with me. I was being totally entertained with all of his stories.\u00a0 Stan just laughed and patted John on the back.\u00a0 I talked to John until Rich needed to go.\u00a0 I shook John\u2019s hand and thanked him for a wonderful evening.\u00a0 Thanks for all the Blues, John.<\/p>\n

Now to plan for Rich\u2019s birthday.\u00a0 He is asking to go to Hofbrau Haus for his dinner.\u00a0 So on Saturday, we venture down to Rosemont to eat some German food, drink some beer and listen to a little Humpha band music.\u00a0 I think a couple of people are planning on meeting us there.\u00a0 We\u2019ll be in no hurry to leave.<\/p>\n
