<\/a><\/a><\/a><\/a><\/a><\/a><\/a><\/a><\/a><\/a>We woke up a little later than this morning.\u00a0 That\u2019s probably because we didn\u2019t go to bed until so late.\u00a0 At least it was late for us last night.\u00a0 Everyone was getting a slow start.\u00a0 Only Stephanie was up and truly moving.\u00a0 She was down in the kitchen washing dishes.\u00a0 I joined in to help.<\/p>\n
Lily, Rose\u2019s daughter, was up and moving too.\u00a0 Does watching cartoons count as moving?\u00a0 She was out of bed.\u00a0 Rose joined us soon after that and we settled in with cups of coffee.\u00a0 Rich started making calls to find a place to fix the Honda.\u00a0 The Honda dealer close by stated that they could get us in on Wed, maybe Tuesday.\u00a0 No good, we leave on Monday.\u00a0 A call to a Firestone store got us in to see what the problem would be.\u00a0 Rich and I headed out to drop off the car with them.\u00a0 We grabbed breakfast out in the area.<\/p>\n
Coming back in, Rich showed me where the button was to open the gate.\u00a0 Would never have looked up there.\u00a0 Back at the house, things were still moving slowly.\u00a0 I walked around the yard to capture of the essence of the surroundings.\u00a0 It\u2019s quite beautiful and very peaceful.<\/p>\n
So here I sit on the pool deck writing my blog.\u00a0 I finished the one for yesterday and started today\u2019s.\u00a0 The birds are singing.\u00a0 I feel like I\u2019m in a bird sanctuary there are so many varying sounds.\u00a0 The breeze is blowing and the temperature is a toasty 91.\u00a0 I love this weather.\u00a0 Yeah, it\u2019s sweaty, but the warmth feels so good.<\/p>\n
Stephanie is floating around the pool.\u00a0 She is hanging on the edge reading while I\u2019m writing.\u00a0 It\u2019s almost like the old days with my friends.\u00a0 Wonder if they remember spending summers like this.\u00a0 Rich gave up on the heat and is inside reading.\u00a0 It\u2019s a good vacation when you can get caught up on your reading time.<\/p>\n
Much, much later<\/b><\/p>\n
Darn, I was having a really hard time getting this blog written.\u00a0 There was so much going on.\u00a0 Let me see if I can pick this back up.<\/p>\n
Friday was a slower day because we were waiting for the Honda to get repaired.\u00a0 Turned out that we blew up the compressor on the A\/C.\u00a0 Now that was easy, but it also meant that we had to replace all of the components that make up the system.\u00a0 That was easy also.\u00a0 However, it was expensive.\u00a0 Rich said that we HAD to have the A\/C.\u00a0 I could take it, but I guess he was right.\u00a0 Good think was they could fix it and be done by the end of the day.\u00a0 That meant that we had to hang around until it was done.\u00a0 I hung the pool most of the day.\u00a0 Rose and Rich drifted in and out.\u00a0 What a wonderful vacation day.<\/p>\n
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that the A\/C upstairs in the house had gone out.\u00a0 It was a little warm the night before.\u00a0 Rose called the service company, who sent someone out.\u00a0 The coil in one of the units had burnt up and there was a slow leak somewhere in the system.\u00a0 The tech made some of the repairs to get the system back up and running.\u00a0 That will give Rose a chance to get another opinion on the problem.\u00a0 For now, it was cool upstairs again.<\/p>\n
Rich and I headed out to pick up the Honda at 6:00.\u00a0 We got back to the house with a fully functional car again.\u00a0 We all piled into JP\u2019s truck to head into San Antonio for a late dinner.\u00a0 Unfortunately, it turned out to be First Friday down there.\u00a0 There were crowds and crowds of people everywhere.\u00a0 We finally found an open parking lot and headed to the Riverwalk.<\/p>\n
If you never been to San Antonio, you must come down here.\u00a0 The Riverwalk is one of the beautiful areas I\u2019ve ever seen.\u00a0 There are restaurants, shopping, theater, and so much more.\u00a0 Besides, it is a winding and shady path on both sides of the river that runs through part of downtown.\u00a0 Back in 1990, I had the fortune of being sent here for work and getting stuck for a very long weekend.\u00a0 I spent all of my time down on the Riverwalk and explore downtown.\u00a0 It is a typical Hispanic mission style town.<\/p>\n
Rose tried to get us into her favorite Mexican restaurant, which is over 100 years old now.\u00a0 By the look of the crowd, everyone else was waiting to get in.\u00a0 They were not even taking names at that time because they were so backed up.\u00a0 We settled for going down the walk a little ways to Rios Rios.\u00a0 We got in right away.\u00a0 After some trouble getting a server, we got our drinks and ordered food.\u00a0 Between talk and the baseball game on the big screen, it was a good time.<\/p>\n
Rich ordered the prickly pear margarita.\u00a0 It\u2019s actually very good, but a little on the sweet side.\u00a0 I ordered a straight up margarita, which was excellent.\u00a0 I got talked into the large, which was probably more tequila than I needed.\u00a0 It is vacation after all.\u00a0 The food was good and we had a great time.<\/p>\n
We came back to the house and talked some more.\u00a0 Then it was undeniably bedtime.\u00a0 I was tired for one.\u00a0 Good night, y\u2019all.<\/p>\n
