Today was another slow day.\u00a0 I started out by trying to get caught up on my blogs.\u00a0 I took my computer and everything out to the pool area.\u00a0 So you can image my view now from the last post.\u00a0 Rich got up and came out to bother me.\u00a0 Then JP and Stephanie came out to talk.<\/p>\n

Today, Stephanie is going home.\u00a0 I really enjoyed her being here.\u00a0 I had a good time talking to her while we were hanging out at the pool.\u00a0 It came time for JP to take her to the airport and we all said good bye.\u00a0 Hope she had a good flight back to Seattle.<\/p>\n

In the afternoon, Rose got everyone together and we took for downtown again.\u00a0 We down to The Cove for lunch\u00a0 This is a really interesting little place that is a restaurant, car wash, and dry cleaners built into one.\u00a0 The decorations are really cool also.\u00a0 We parked and walked into the restaurant to review the menu.\u00a0 There were burgers of all kinds, but they are famous for their lamb burger.\u00a0 That\u2019s what Rich ordered.\u00a0 The fish tacos are highly recommended.\u00a0 I wanted the shrimp tacos, but the wasabi sauce scared me off.<\/p>\n

The food was excellent.\u00a0 We found seats at a table in the cabana hut, which has air conditioning.\u00a0 Rich doesn\u2019t do al fresco unless I force the issue.\u00a0 There was no point today.\u00a0 It was a little warm and humid outside.\u00a0 Rich got a beer from the bar.\u00a0 We finished up and walked around the compound there.\u00a0 There was an open air bar out back.\u00a0 Rich discovered too late that they had a lot of draft beers back there.\u00a0 Rose, Rich, and Lily posed in the open faces.\u00a0 I got a picture of the travel trailer sitting out front as well.\u00a0 It was pretty cool.<\/p>\n

We took off again for a little further downtown to see the Buckhorn Saloon.\u00a0 Rich wanted to say he had a beer while sitting in there.\u00a0 We found a park garage and walked on over.\u00a0 There were antlers hanging everywhere!\u00a0 There were animals everywhere!\u00a0 I liked the rhino while Rose liked the giraffe.\u00a0 Rich had his beer.\u00a0 Lily wanted to play a game in the game room.\u00a0 Rich took her on in a quick game of air hockey.<\/p>\n

Then it was time to head back out.\u00a0 We got back to Rose and JP\u2019s in time to start getting ready for our dinner with the 6913th<\/sup> guys.\u00a0 This was our entire reason for making the trip.\u00a0 We got all dolled up and headed out for New Braunfels and the German restaurant.\u00a0 There was going to be 5 of us total.\u00a0 Rich was nervous that none of them would show up.<\/p>\n

We arrived at the Freisenhaus restaurant.\u00a0 It was a cute little place right next to the Farmers\u2019 Market.\u00a0 We went in and were greeted by a lady with a very distinct German accent.\u00a0 We were early, but she allowed us to be seated at our table.\u00a0 Rich started off with a Dunkelweissen.\u00a0 We got some appetizers to help carry us over the 30 minutes had to wait for everyone else.<\/p>\n

Came 6:00, Rich was nervous that no one would show up.\u00a0 Finally Mac and John arrived with John\u2019s fianc\u00e9e, Theresa.\u00a0 John brought photo albums as well as those that Rich had.\u00a0 Turned out, Mac was John\u2019s supervisor in Germany.\u00a0 So they knew each other pretty well.\u00a0 The three of them had been in Germany over roughly the same time period.\u00a0 They knew a lot of the same people.\u00a0 Rich had worked for the radio group while Mac and John worked for Operations.<\/p>\n

We ordered food and ended up staying for three hours as the guys talked.\u00a0 Theresa and I were trying to stay caught up with the discussion.\u00a0 We did manage to talk between ourselves as well.\u00a0 The guys flipped through pictures and talked about old times and people they knew.\u00a0 I think they missed Germany still from the sound of them talking.<\/p>\n

We finally called it a night and packed up our stuff.\u00a0 Rich and I made the drive back to Rose\u2019s house.\u00a0 I think Rich was pretty happy with how things turned out.\u00a0 I told Rich we should make it a traveling show every year and do a dinner in an area where people say they live.\u00a0 We could take time out from every location we go for a dinner with people from the group.\u00a0 We\u2019ll see how it goes.<\/p>\n

So another end to another day.\u00a0 I\u2019m tired.\u00a0 Good night again.<\/p>\n
