Well, we knew this day would come.\u00a0 We would be required to return the hostages to their parents.\u00a0 It has been a fun couple of days though.We started out with breakfast.\u00a0 We fixed cinnamon rolls.\u00a0 Cael and Sophia had cereal besides.\u00a0 Then with the dishes done, the troops headed out to the river for one last fishing trip.\u00a0 This time, Cael and Sophia opted to stay at the house with me.\u00a0 That was fine.\u00a0 I had work to do.\u00a0 They can occupy themselves.<\/p>\n

I turned on the TV, made sure the flyswatters were at hand, and listened for any screaming and crying.\u00a0 I could hear them talking and playing.\u00a0 Pretty soon, I heard the sound of flies dying out in the living room.\u00a0 There was lots of giggles from the next room.<\/p>\n

Pretty soon, Sophia came to the door of the office to tell me that Cael wouldn\u2019t let her sit on the couch.\u00a0 I have a large couch that makes out into a queen bed and a loveseat.\u00a0 There are plenty of couches for two small children.\u00a0 Cael is only 3 and not all that tall.\u00a0 When I walked into the living room, Cael was stretched out on the large couch.\u00a0 There was a good foot and a half at the end of the couch where he just couldn\u2019t cover.\u00a0 With that an entire smaller couch left exposed, I just couldn\u2019t figure out what the problem was. I gave Sophia instructions to use the other couch.\u00a0 A little while later, I stuck my head out and they were sitting side by side again on the larger couch.<\/p>\n

Not long afterward, Rich, Rick, and Bel returned from their fishing expedition.\u00a0 The final report was that Bel had caught a total of 9 fish, including one pretty good sized catfish.\u00a0 Rick had caught a couple.\u00a0 Rich had caught a grand total of three carp.\u00a0 Not bad for the three days of fishing.\u00a0 Bel was trying to convince Rich that he had plenty of fishing rods and could afford to let her take one home.\u00a0 She really wanted that pink fishing rod set.<\/p>\n

I was still working and need to keep going.\u00a0 Rich and Rick decided to take the kids to McDonald\u2019s for lunch.\u00a0 We managed to find socks for everyone.\u00a0 The troops then left the house again.\u00a0 I went back to work.\u00a0 After lunch, everyone returned to the house.\u00a0 Rich got them in gear to pack up their stuff and start loading the car.\u00a0 I completed my task and turned over the files.<\/p>\n

We loaded up the human cargo, buckled up, and headed out to meet up with Vanessa.\u00a0 We were on our way to return the hostages to their rightful owners.\u00a0 I had planned on the ride taking us an hour and a half.\u00a0 It took a little over an hour.\u00a0 All of the kids were asleep as soon as we pulled away from the house.\u00a0 That meant that their nap was for a good long time.<\/p>\n

We found the hotel and got into the parking lot.\u00a0 Rich called Vanessa to let her know we had arrived.\u00a0 She came out and we swapped keys to vehicles.\u00a0 Vanessa then shepherded her children and our former hostages to her room.\u00a0 Chris wouldn\u2019t be getting off work until 5:00.<\/p>\n

Since I wasn\u2019t feeling well, we decided to leave and not hang around for dinner.\u00a0 We gave the kids hugs and kisses.\u00a0 Vanessa got a big hug.\u00a0 We talked about the possibility of plans for next summer.\u00a0 We can plan for what this will be like next year.\u00a0 It was fun.\u00a0 Our house will definitely be a lot quieter after this.<\/p>\n

On Friday, I caught Sascha going into the guest room a couple of times.\u00a0 I figured she was looking for the kids.<\/p>\n
