So the other day, I left Sascha outside to keep watch on those pesky squirrels.\u00a0 After a while, I figured she should have had enough.\u00a0 What did I see?\u00a0 A hole about a foot deep right where I had dug up my dahlias this fall!\u00a0 It looked like a bomb crater with dirt thrown out in all directions.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Sascha seemed very unconcerned when I started hopping around and screaming.\u00a0 Sorry, there is no picture to go with this story.\u00a0 And she has repeated this feat a couple of times now.\u00a0 The joke in our house now is not to have Sascha see you do something that she will think she can do better.\u00a0 I did wonder if she could plant my bulbs for me though.<\/p>\n
So Alex and Kelli and the kids came out for Thanksgiving.\u00a0 It was a very small gathering this year.\u00a0 Rich decided to smoke the turkey on his new smoker.\u00a0 And while he was smoking one thing, he decided to put on a pork shoulder as well.\u00a0 That should give us plenty of leftovers for a few days.\u00a0 Next year, Rich claims he should just smoke something pork.\u00a0 Since it’s an even year, we should have a lot of family here.\u00a0 I don’t think he can get away without a turkey.\u00a0<\/p>\n
On Friday, Alex and Kelli and the kids headed back to Michigan.\u00a0 They left early so they could swing by the Willis (Sears) Tower.\u00a0 We headed over to Dave’s house for another Thanksgiving with Chris and their\u00a0families.\u00a0 It was turkey and ham there.\u00a0 Dave can cook a mean ham.\u00a0 It was nice out and we sat\u00a0around the fire outside talking and enjoying some libations.\u00a0 Pretty good day again.\u00a0 Thanks, Dave and Chris, for sharing with us.\u00a0<\/p>\n
So that really big day of the year is coming soon.\u00a0 I’m not doing the two week\u00a0celebration, but it will take a\u00a0few days to get through.\u00a0 We are going to Piece in\u00a0Bucktown (Chicago neighborhood) for my first birthday celebrations!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
