I decided to combine the last two days since nothing at all happened on the second day, except the drive through rain to get home.<\/p>\n

What time is it?\u00a0 What is all this light?\u00a0 Why am I up so early?\u00a0 Didn\u2019t I just go to bed?<\/p>\n
With sad faces and sad hearts, we packed up our stuff and loaded the car.\u00a0 It was time to return to the north.\u00a0 We will miss the south with its hospitality, great music, great people, and warm weather.\u00a0 Only there was a storm coming and we should get out of here.<\/p>\n
We stopped for breakfast up in Tunica at the Blue and White Restaurant again.\u00a0 Rich was feeling the need for some good ole southern ham and redeye gravy.\u00a0 Today, it was fairly quiet.\u00a0 Still no donuts available for breakfast.\u00a0 I think they are just taunting us with the idea of homemade donuts.\u00a0 Rich picked up a t-shirt from here.\u00a0 It has a 34 Ford roadster on the back.<\/p>\n
Back on the road, we head into Memphis and get on 55 going north.\u00a0 We did pretty well until we got around Cape Girardeau, MO.\u00a0 A sign along the highway was flashing a tornado warning for the area.\u00a0 We changed to the radio and found an AM news station broadcasting storm information.\u00a0 The conditions were right, but no tornado was spotted.\u00a0 We got up around Oak Grove and a rest area.\u00a0 We stopped to wait out the rain, which was coming down and we could hard see.\u00a0 We figured we wait for it to pass us by.<\/p>\n
Half an hour later, we were back on the road and watching the storm move off to the northeast away from us.\u00a0 The rest of the drive into St. Louis was uneventful.\u00a0 We made our way into downtown to find the Schafly Taproom for dinner.\u00a0 This area of downtown is seeing a lot of updating and rework.\u00a0 Schafly\u2019s is in the old St. Louis Brewing facility.\u00a0 It was very nice.\u00a0 The food was pretty good and the beers were good.\u00a0 It was a great stop.\u00a0 The only thing was the server didn\u2019t seem like he really wanted to be.\u00a0 He ignored me at the table until Rich returned from his pit stop.\u00a0 Then he just wasn\u2019t that attentive.\u00a0 I guess I should realize I\u2019m in the south anymore.<\/p>\n
Rich loves the cask conditioned ales.\u00a0 His first was the Oktoberfest followed by the cask conditioned APA.\u00a0 Both were delicious.\u00a0 Rich got the plate of swine with all of the pork portions that you can image, including deep fried bacon.\u00a0 I went for the simpler schnitzel plate.\u00a0 Just what we were looking for.\u00a0 Great food, great beer, and great atmosphere.\u00a0 Next time, we\u2019ll have to stop for longer to enjoy more.<\/p>\n
We finally rolled into our hotel for the night.\u00a0 The poor guy behind the desk had to answer the phone as we came in.\u00a0 As we were waiting, a group of young men were wondering around the place.\u00a0 I assumed they were getting ready for work and waiting for their ride.\u00a0 When Rich was coming back up to the room after returning the luggage cart, he was in the elevator with one of them and he asked about the situation.\u00a0 Yes, they were part of an industrial cleaning crew and were waiting for the van.<\/p>\n
Rich relaxed as I wrote out the blog for our day in Clarksdale.\u00a0 It took me a couple of hours to completely post the text and pictures.\u00a0 A lot of work went into that post, but I was happy with it.\u00a0 Believe it or not, it was not everything.\u00a0 I thought of it as the highlight reel.<\/p>\n
Today, we made it home without any further incidents to report.\u00a0 It was quiet and leisurely ride.\u00a0 Sascha was overwhelmed to have us back and couldn\u2019t stop following Rich around.\u00a0 Tomorrow, she won\u2019t remember we were gone.<\/p>\n
It was wonderful trip with a lot of great experiences.\u00a0 I can\u2019t wait to plan another trip to Clarksdale and spend some time around time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
