We slept in this morning.\u00a0 That\u2019s the benefit of not having little ones at this time.\u00a0 Even Sascha slept in this morning.\u00a0 I think she was tired from the scootering yesterday.\u00a0 She made three separate trips out.\u00a0 But she was so happy.<\/p>\n

I got up and got Sascha outside where she promptly took up station in my flower bed.\u00a0 It was going to be a great day for hanging outside.\u00a0 I went in and started the coffee.\u00a0 This was second day of electronic newspaper and I still hadn\u2019t gotten the paper on the tablet.\u00a0 That was my goal today.\u00a0 I spent the morning snooping around on the tablet to see what I could do.\u00a0 Then the guys got up.<\/p>\n

The first decision was whether to do Christmas first or breakfast.\u00a0 Rick voted for presents first.\u00a0 Since Rich didn\u2019t care, Rick put on the Santa hat and passed out the gifts.\u00a0 Sascha\u2019s gift came up first.\u00a0 We had gotten a rawhide bone for her, which I stuck in her stocking.\u00a0 Rick opened the packaging and handed it to her.\u00a0 The reaction was priceless.\u00a0 Sascha doesn\u2019t want to chew the bone.\u00a0 She wants to guard it. \u00a0She even growled at Rich when he got too close.\u00a0 Hmmm, wonder what this is about?<\/p>\n

Our tradition is to open one gift and then move on to the next person.\u00a0 We do this until all the gifts are gone.\u00a0 I normally don\u2019t have that many gifts, so Rich and Rick continue through theirs.\u00a0 My bottle tree didn\u2019t come wrapped so that was one down for me.\u00a0 Santa brought the guys the normal underwear and socks.\u00a0 There was a fishing lure tying station, a hi-tech turntable, a beagle calendar, and a rawhide bone.<\/p>\n

Rich made the statement earlier this year that he needed gargoyles for the garage roof.\u00a0 I found him a nice pair that I thought might fit nicely.\u00a0 Now he\u2019s thinking that maybe they would be better on his cube at work.\u00a0 They might ward off anyone looking for help or who wants to get in the way of some real work.<\/p>\n

Breakfast was up next.\u00a0 I made sausage gravy and biscuits with eggs.\u00a0 It just wasn\u2019t my day.\u00a0 Rich\u2019s eggs got a little more done than I intended.\u00a0 There are just days when things go better than others.\u00a0 At least I wasn\u2019t making dinner.<\/p>\n

After clean up, we each headed off to our own thing.\u00a0 I got my tablet out and finally got things up and working again.\u00a0 Now I can read the paper from this device.\u00a0 Maybe this will be incentive to do more with the tablet.<\/p>\n

Over the afternoon, Sascha was keeping an eye on her new bone.\u00a0 I think each of us spent some time messing with her.\u00a0 She didn\u2019t growl anymore though.\u00a0 At one point, she went outside and I put the bone on her pillow.\u00a0 She came in and went in search of the toy.\u00a0 She moved it out to the middle of the room and put a guard on it for about an hour.<\/p>\n

Rich was fixing dinner tonight.\u00a0 He started in with his mushroom gravy, which he really loves.\u00a0 Since the weather was nice, he decided to cook the standing rib roast on the grill.\u00a0 It worked beautifully.\u00a0 He finished off with Yorkshire pudding and braised brussel sprouts.\u00a0 Rich and I had a very nice Merlot with dinner.\u00a0 Christmas is still one of the better eating holidays in this family.<\/p>\n

Rich and I took Sascha for an after dinner walk through the neighborhood.\u00a0 The weather was still pretty nice.\u00a0 It was a great day for a walk. Sascha doesn\u2019t like the nose harness we use, but at least she is well controlled.\u00a0 There might have been a few animals out in the dark since her ears and tail were up as we walked part some of the wooded areas.\u00a0 We made it through the circuit and back to the house without incident.<\/p>\n

This evening, we are very satisfied with full stomachs and happy hearts.\u00a0 It was a great Christmas here in our house.\u00a0 We plan to continue and enjoy our vacation and the rest of the holidays.<\/p>\n
