For a winter day, today wasn’t too bad. The temp got up to 30 at least, if not more.\u00a0 The wind was relatively calm.\u00a0 My weather station didn’t record anything too major.\u00a0 Sascha must have thought so too.\u00a0 She preferred outside today.<\/p>\n
In the late morning, I put Sascha out.\u00a0 She was sitting in her usual position as if to guard the house.\u00a0 Either that or she is spying on the neighbors.\u00a0 I hope not.\u00a0 She is usually pointed to Kevin and Carol’s house just across from our backyard.\u00a0 They had 3 dogs, so she could be keeping an eye out for them.\u00a0 I believe it more to watch the squirrels that scamper in their oak trees.\u00a0<\/p>\n
I went out at some point to check on her and see if she wanted in.\u00a0 She looks directly at me and lies down in the snow.\u00a0 She has a very direct way of looking at you as if it is a challenge.\u00a0 I assumed that meant she was staying out.\u00a0 So I came in.\u00a0 The more I thought about it, it was funny how she tells you to go away.\u00a0 I decided to take a picture of her lying in the snow.<\/p>\n
I took my camera and went out the back door to take the picture.\u00a0 As I was focusing the camera, she came running at me and planted a huge paw in the middle of chest.\u00a0 She then sat in the driveway and gave me that death stare.\u00a0 Of course, I start laughing.\u00a0 She\u00a0is not amused.\u00a0 So I go back into the house.\u00a0 It took another hour before she felt ready to come in.<\/p>\n
Later in the day, I put her out again.\u00a0 After a half an hour, I checked on her.\u00a0 She again lies down in the snow in response to my question about coming into the house.\u00a0 This time I just took a picture through the back door.\u00a0 She won’t have to tell me twice to go away.\u00a0 She did eventually come in.<\/p>\n
Lesson in all this:\u00a0 When Sascha gives you the death stare, don’t mess with her!<\/p>\n
