Easter is just another Polish eating holiday.\u00a0 That’s a good thing though.\u00a0 I love the foods at Easter.\u00a0 Zurek soup (no kidding)\u00a0is a fermented soup only had at this holiday.\u00a0 Me, I would have it all the time.\u00a0 I love the sour flavor with the hard boiled egg, sausage, and rye bread.\u00a0 Actually, that’s about all I eat on Easter.\u00a0 Rich is preparing lamb on a spit for our meal.\u00a0 I’m not a big lamb eater, but the guys like it.\u00a0<\/p>\n
I made up the Easter basket today.\u00a0 I don’t have to surprise anyone these days.\u00a0 I got Rich a dark chocolate bunny and Rick chose a Reese’s bunny.\u00a0 They have to have something to eat the ears off of.\u00a0 I don’t need a bunny.\u00a0 I’m just fine with the Cadbury eggs.\u00a0 I had to get the caramel Cadbury’s for Rich.\u00a0 The rest is all malted milk balls and peanut butter cups.\u00a0 Should last us for the next week.<\/p>\n
Rich’s birthday is on Tuesday.\u00a0 I took the opportunity of him being out of the house on errands to wrap his gifts.\u00a0 No, I can’t tell you what they are, because he reads this blog also.\u00a0 He should be good surprised on Tuesday though.\u00a0 He plans to take the day off and do something fun.\u00a0 Probably brew the wheat beer for the pig roast in June.\u00a0 He managed to stop by and get his fishing license while he was out.\u00a0 You never know, he might need to go fishing tomorrow.\u00a0<\/p>\n
On the 14th, we are meeting up with some friends and having having dinner at Weissgerber’s in Waukasha, WI.\u00a0 This is a really awesome German restaurant that has all of Rich’s favorite foods.\u00a0 They also carry really good German beers.\u00a0 It’s like being in Germany again for Rich.\u00a0 This is his birthday meal.\u00a0 I don’t mind.\u00a0 I love German food.\u00a0 The company should be pretty good as well.<\/p>\n
Earlier, Rich put on his black and red plaid jacket and went out to the garage to work on Sally for a while.\u00a0 Sascha saw his jacket and immediately assumed that she was going for dog scootering!\u00a0 She started barking and dancing around.\u00a0 Poor thing was so disappointed.\u00a0 Sascha dances more than any dog I know.\u00a0 I guess huskies are just a naturally happy breed.\u00a0<\/p>\n
If the weather cools down and the humidity stays down, I thought I might try to take out for a spin around the neighborhood.\u00a0 It’s just that she’s so fast, it’s a little scary to go out with her.\u00a0 She won’t slow down.\u00a0 I have to stay on the brake to keep her from going full speed!\u00a0 She does love to run.\u00a0 I just need some heavy, wide, and offers more resistance.\u00a0 One day, I hope to get a good feel for the scooter and know to control it better.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Sally (the ’34 Ford) had not been started all winter.\u00a0 Today, Rich went out and started putting some things back together on the old girl.\u00a0 He got the battery hooked back up and the seat secured into the car.\u00a0 It took a couple of tries, but the old girl fired right up.\u00a0 Rich then took her out for a spin.\u00a0 Apparently, she did very well.\u00a0 Even the brakes worked.\u00a0 When I got back home, he had painted some pieces and worked on getting some more things done on her.\u00a0 Hopefully, we can be ready to take her out for some shows in June.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Yesterday, Rick brought his girlfriend, Jordan, over to the house.\u00a0 Jordan is very nice, but a little on the quiet side.\u00a0 I just hope we don’t scare her too bad.\u00a0 You know us Zureks, we can be a little loud and brass.\u00a0 I had to ask if she was really OK with Rick wearing his kilt to the prom.\u00a0 She says she is totally fine with it.\u00a0 Rick put on his new jacket to show her what he intended to wear with it.\u00a0 She liked the jacket also.\u00a0 I did offer my Campbell sash if she wanted to dress to compliment him.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I took them out to dinner (because we gotta eat) \u00a0and we talked.\u00a0 Jordan’s OK if she can put up with Rick, you know.<\/p>\n
